Hypothyroidism Symptoms in Women

Before I delved into the fitness training profession, I can’t tell you how many times I heard this from women: “I work out all the time but I can’t seem to lose weight.” If I had a dollar for every time I heard that, I would be sitting on an island somewhere with a 40 foot yacht and a butler bringing me Pina Coladas all day. But…that isn’t the case. What is always astonishing to me is when investigating the situation a bit further these same women when asked what they eat after working out will tell me fast food, microwave dinners,  or something which came from a box! Huh? I don’t get it.  What I do get is exercise makes you hungry and that is because you’re burning calories which would otherwise be stored if you weren’t working out. It’s a natural thing for the body to want to replace those calories but they should be good calories. I’ll get into that in another post some time down the road but hear this: Your trainer is not responsible for what you put into your mouth. A trainer can tell you what types of foods are good and which are bad but ultimately what I’ve found is we all know this… it’s just a matter of following it. Most women don’t want to follow it because most of the bad stuff just tastes so good. I get that too.
